Investigations

You might need a drain inspection if you have recurring drainage issues.

if you notice an issue with your drainage, perhaps a foul smell or it is slow draining or there could be a blockage then a CCTV survey can identify the problem.

We carry out CCTV Drain Survey for commercial and residential properties

Camera survey being carried out using iTouch camera system

A drain survey is an in-depth inspection of your drainage system, using high-tech CCTV cameras which are inserted into your drains. It is a quick cost-effective way to identify numerous problems like fractures, cracks, collapses, roots, scale, debris & fatty deposits.

Using a state of the art CCTV system, a detailed Survey can be undertaken to investigate the condition of the drains, identifying any problems that might be present.  These problems can range from fractures, cracks, collapses, roots, debris, fatty deposits, scaling as well as the condition of the joints.

From the survey we can see exactly what is wrong, and work out the simplest, quickest and most cost-effective way to put it right. to fix it rectify it

The CCTV footage is recorded live and a report is available to you within a day or two after the survey being completed.

Look See Inspection

Exactly what it is says we look in the drain with our cameras to see if there are any problems.  This service is not recorded.

Problems with rats

A cctv survey can identify cracks, displaced joints, holes & redundant drains which may be where the rats are gaining access.  Rats can also cause blockages by building their nests in the drain.  If you have a problem with a smell this could be caused by a dead rat.  A cctv survey will flag up any of these issues.

Building Work

If you are carrying out any building work i.e. an extension, conservatory, garage etc a CCTV survey can shed light on the condition of the drains before work begins & the exact location size & depth of any drains.

The water authority will insist that you carry out a CCTV drainage survey if building work is to take place over or near their pipes. We always recommend that you have a CCTV survey before & after you have any work carried out.

Home Buyer/Pre-purchase Survey,
Seller Survey

If you are purchasing a property it is a good idea to check the condition of the drainage system

If you are a buyer you should considered a pre-purchase drain survey, without one you may be unaware of problems that aren’t noticeable from a visual inspection.

A fault in the drainage system can be expensive to sort out after a purchase goes through.

Surveys do not take too long to carry out and if a problem is found then it gives you a chance to possibly negotiate on the price of the property!

A standard building surveyor will mainly look at the building to check that the property is structurally sound.

When it comes to the drains, the surveyor will only lift the drain covers to inspect the condition of the manhole, but they are not able to see if there are any defects within the drainage system below ground.

Without a survey there could be a number of problems within the drainage system including blockages, bad pipe work, fractures, collapsed pipes or displaced joints and root intrusions, which could lead to further problems in the future.
